DTV friends today I want to talk about the FDA regulations. In their current form these regulations will decimate the vaping industry. Without a significant revision these new restrictions will mean that today, not tomorrow is the pinnacle of vaping. It will go no higher.
What am I talking about? Basically the crippling rules will result in the death of mom and pop shops and liquid manufactures.
The rules prevent shops from assisting with coil building.
The rules prevent the creation of new flavors without millions of dollars in application fees.
This will result in a massive contraction of the number of stores and manufacturers.
These rules prevent sampling of flavors or testing devices.
Perhaps most disturbing these rules will limit the vaping industry to just the products offered by big tobacco companies.
And this is just the beginning. The most ridiculous aspect of the regulations limits Vape products to those available before 2007. Do you remember how big vaping was in 2007? With cigalikes being the only option? Available in crappy tobacco flavor and nothing else?
But do not despair! There is a way out. It doesn’t involve full scale revolt (well not yet, anyway).
We have already seen some small action by the White House to limit the effect of the regulations. And at least one member of congress is calling the whole debacle into question. This is hope. This means possibility for more sensible reform.
By contacting your member of congress you can get the word out on how important vaping (and your local shop with all the options and flavors) is to you.
Also, I am recommending that everyone join CASSA. By going to http://cqrcengage.com/casaa/app/register?0&m=25306 signing up is easy and free. You’ll be able to stay informed on all the twists and turns.
